As I sat down to write my last post of the year, and wanting to provide meaningful content for you, I remembered how much time I spend with various nonprofit leaders talking about culture, values, goals and related alignment issues. For many, these concepts seem abstract or complicated. Then I also remembered this great Bridgespan article outlining four things to focus on when you need to shift your culture. It’s well done and focuses where I think it should – on people. P-E-O-P-L-E.

Whether you are selecting them, assessing their performance, making decisions with them or communicating with them, your people are the key to your culture.

So if you are truly committed to achieving your goals, take a few minutes to read this, and determine if it’s time to make a shift in order to align your culture with your mission.
